This week's newsletter aims to take some time to encourage all the mothers out there.
We understand that being a mom can be overwhelming, especially when trying to balance the demands of the end of the year activities and finding the motivation to finish the school year strong. But we want to encourage you to keep going and remind you that you are not alone.
Here are a few tips for this week. It would not be very Catholic of me if I didn’t stress the devotion of Mary and the rosary especially during the month of May. I say this as a former Protestant, and to poke fun at all my Protestant friends and family reading this letter. (I love you and thank you for sticking with me)
Focusing on your spiritual journey:
Stay close to the Rosary: The Rosary is a powerful tool for prayer and reflection that can bring peace and clarity to your mind and heart. Make sure to include the formal Rosary in your daily routine as a way to stay close to your faith and find comfort during challenging times. St. Louis de Montfort, in his book "The Secret of the Rosary,” wrote that “the Rosary is the most powerful weapon to touch the Heart of Jesus, Our Redeemer, who loves His Mother.”
After sharing my struggles with my priest, he encouraged me to incorporate more prayer into my daily routine by saying 15 Hail Mary’s throughout the day, starting with the opening prayer, and finding moments to pause and pray a Hail Mary or even a decade. I encourage you to do the same and find times in your day to say a few Hail Mary’s, such as when brushing your teeth, putting the baby to bed, or loading the dishwasher. Commit to saying at least 15 Hail Mary’s before bed and end the day with the closing prayers. These practices will help you feel closer to God during even the most mundane tasks.
Yes, drinking your 8 glasses of water is important but how much more important is our prayer life? The Within the Fold Organizer provides various places to track your progress and improve your faith journey. Use these trackers to plan out your prayer life, including finding times to incorporate 15 Hail Mary’s into your daily routine. I want to encourage you to take the first step. Plan out the time to
FORMAL ROSARY: Say at least one formal family rosary each day. Our family has found much better success at the start of the day as this is when we are awake and fresh.
DAILY 15: Link saying the opening prayer to a current daily activity, like nap time, to help you remember. Nap time is an great time for me because it is a quiet and calm moment that occurs each day (Lord willing). Then, rinse and repeat. Ask the Holy Spirit to free up time in your day to spend time in prayer.
“It is through the most Blessed Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ came into the world, and it is also through her that He will reign in the world.”
We hope these tips help you stay focused on your faith journey.
Warm regards,
The Within the Fold Team
