Homeschooling Tips for the End of the Year:

  1. Prioritize: It's easy to feel overwhelmed with all the end-of-year activities, but it's important to prioritize what's important for your family. Focus on completing the core subjects and finish any remaining assignments. You can also consider dropping some activities or classes that are not essential.

  2. Review: Take time to review what you've covered throughout the year. This will help you see the progress your child has made and identify any areas that need improvement. You can also use this time to plan for next year's curriculum.

  3. Celebrate: Don't forget to celebrate your child's achievements, no matter how small they may seem. You can have a special dinner or plan a fun activity to mark the end of the school year.

Celebrating Saint Feasts in Summer:

Summer is a wonderful time to celebrate the feasts of the saints, especially in the month of May. Here are some of the most important feast days to keep in mind:

  • May 13: Our Lady of Fatima

  • May 31: The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

  • June 13: St. Anthony of Padua

  • June 24: The Nativity of St. John the Baptist

  • June 29: Sts. Peter and Paul

Consider incorporating these feasts into your family's summer celebrations by planning special meals, prayers, or activities that honor these saints.

May, the Month of Mary:

May is also known as the Month of Mary, a time to honor the Blessed Mother and deepen our devotion to her. Here are some ways to add this to your homeschooling efforts:

  1. Pray the Rosary: As we mentioned in our previous newsletter, the Rosary is a powerful tool for prayer and reflection. Make it a daily habit to pray the Rosary as a family, focusing on different mysteries throughout the month.

  2. Learn about Mary: Take time to learn more about Mary's life, virtues, and role in our faith. You can read books, watch movies, or even plan a pilgrimage to a Marian shrine.

  3. Plan a May Crowning: A May Crowning is a beautiful tradition where a statue of Mary is crowned with a wreath of flowers. You can plan this as a family or even organize a larger celebration with your homeschooling community.

We hope these tips help you make the most of the end of the school year and deepen your family's faith journey.

Warm regards,

The Within the Fold Team
